Give me a sign?

Ok, here it is...

If you happen to need a new sign board for some reason, my adventures in Blender led to me releasing this as a little product.

It's mod and copy, with six separate faces to make it easy to texture. Four of them are pre-textured with a neutral white-ish wood grain, so all you need to do is drop the image you want to use on the main faces and you're good to go.

It's 1Li and has decent LODs, so doesn't collapse as soon as you sneeze. You can check out how it looks rezzed out in my inworld store, and it's also available on Marketplace for 55 of your finest Linden Dollars.

...because I made a sofa.

Pride!

It's Pride weekend here in Edinburgh, and Pride month across the world, so to celebrate I made a slightly silly t-shirt with a serious message. 

No credible evidence has shown an increased safety risk from allowing everyone to use the facilities that are in keeping with their gender identity. Yet transgender and non-binary people are at risk of verbal and even physical abuse whichever they use.

I won't get too heavy in what is usually a lighthearted blog about my daft little clothing shop, but for many reasons this is a subject close to my heart and I wanted to show my support.

New release - a thing I forgot about!

About 8 months ago, I participated in the Nevermore Hunt, and made a version of my Eve Gown with a slightly more gothic twist.

The ~Alternating Current All Hallows Eve gown went down very well with the hunters, and I intended to release it in store once the hunt had ended.

Let's just say it's early, for next Halloween.  :D

Free thing!!

Recently, I needed a little shoe rack for my entrance hall. I didn't want anything too big or elaborate, but I also didn't want it to collapse at too short a distance, because the hall is quite wide. I couldn't find anything exactly right so I had a go at making one myself:

Bollocks to Brexit

You might have heard about a little thing called Brexit, that's causing us all kinds of stress in the UK.

For the record, I'm very much pro-EU. I'd be delighted if our politicians could stop arguing over how best to leave, and just agree to stay.

So this is my new addition to the ~AC range (hah...is two things really a range?) of protest clothing: the Love EU t-shirt.

It comes in a range of male and female sizes, and there are two designs in each pack - a simple EU flag design and a slightly more forthright 'Bollocks to Brexit' slogan design.

Festive silliness!

The first new release is the ~AC Unicorn outfit, consisting of a dress with a harness, and a matching unicorn horn: 

It comes in Maitreya, Slink (x2), Belleza (x3) and standard L, M, S, XS, XXS sizes, and is available on the Marketplace and inworld at the ~Alternating Current store for L$150.

The second release is the ~AC Tuxedokini (which is totally a word, by the way...) for male mesh bodies (Slink, Signature Gianni and TMP). 

The bow tie has a colour-change HUD, so you can express your individuality or co-ordinate with your date's outfit, and is also available on the Marketplace and inworld at the ~Alternating Current store for L$150.

Finally, a product that isn't new, but only becomes relevant once a year, so now is my chance to plug it.

The Femdom Hunt VII

~Alternating Current is delighted to be participating in the 7th round of The Femdom Hunt, organised and run by my lovely other half Antony Fairport, of Z&A fame.

It's a grid-wide event, taking in 59 of the best femdom-themed and femdom-friendly shops and locations in Second Life. Each has made at least one gift, many of which are brand new full products, and all of which are completely free.

The hunt object is a sparkly red shoe, with a hint to its location available from the hunt board close to each landing point. The organisers don't know the precise hiding places of the shoes, but the Femdom Hunt group chat is a hilarious and helpful source of assistance and/or terrible puns, should you find yourself stuck!

So what will ~Alternating Current's gift be?

I can't say, but I promise it will be FAB.  ;)

There may also have been wine...and an unfortunate incident with a shopping trolley...

Paaarty tiiime, excelleeeent...

Every other Saturday, Raven Park has a theme party, where a group of like-minded reprobates and an assortment of beautiful oddballs get to hang out, dance, chat and show off our costume-making skills.

For the last year, I have been lucky enough to build sets for these parties, and it is one of my favourite things to do in SL.

It started with a Labyrinth-esque ballroom inside a huge crystal ball, in honour of David Bowie, who had died a couple of weeks earlier:

More recently, there have been sets for Buffy, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and themes such as broken dolls, bad fairies, protest rallies, steampunk and pandas. Yes, pandas. It's a good theme SHUT UP! 

Costumes are optional, the conversation is silly and the puns are truly dreadful. :D

In an unusual burst of enthusiasm, Alternating Current has produced a thing!

Although I generally hold my political opinions quietly, the world has frankly gone a bit nuts of late, and a recent Raven Park dance called for some statement attire.

By popular request (ok, one person asked), the 'Another Prick with a Wall' protest vest is now available on Marketplace, in white-and-black, or for a little variety, black-and-white.

I don't make my own mesh clothing yet (the Blender practice is coming along though...I can already make a fence post...how hard can an intricate garment be?!), so do try a demo, as the template sizes are 'experimental'.
